Ok so this car is becoming the death of me. A month ago right after I purchased this car, I had posted a thread about a battery light on the dash that also read "alternator fault" on the I drive screen as well. I had it dropped off at BMW to diag, but surely enough it wouldnt do it for them. I have since driven the car 2000 miles and it did not come back, that is, until last week. Now the chimes and warning symbols will come on 4-5 times during my 22 mile commute to work. It will only stay on a few seconds, and then go off. It seems to shut off after I punch the gas or accelerate. The battery tests 100% charge constantly, and the alternator shows chagre of 13.4 to 14.2 no matter what load we put on it. The code we got it to read is "Generator Malfunction No Signal". So we are thinking maybe a loose signal wire? Anyone know where I can get the elecrical wiring diagram perhaps? I don't want to replace the alternator yet as it seems to be doing its job just fine. Any help would be much appreciated!!
