Whats up fellas?

I have a little problem; i took shrapnel in the front bumper in the form of a 18wheeler tire the other day traveling down the freeway. The damage was minimal (<600) so its unwise for me to utilize insurance to fix the small blemishes... However, there is a problem with the headlights. The Left (driver) HL is now "stuck" looking out to the left permanently and will not adjust to center. Does anyone here have experience with a problem like this? I am pretty mechanically inclined, just dont wanna start tearing into the system blindly.

Any help is appreciated.

WHAT?? I am confused.

Are you simply saying ur headlights are stuck at one position?

Remove the headlight via my DIY: https://5series.net/forums/index.php...0&gopid=969316

Now check inside for anything loose.

If all else fails, u need a new headlight

oh btw, worst case scenario, try to move the headlight projector lens by hand. Yes they say not too but if it's broken, doesnt hurt to try.

Your best bet would to bring this into a dealer. They can verify if it is indeed broken when they connect it to the computer.

This trip to the dealership may warrant you using the insurance claim though.

I have a feeling, if you don't have warranty, whatever the case is your dealer will tell you it's broken...

oh yeah. forgot about insurance. Since u had something flying down at u without ur fault of ur own, ask ur insurance if comprehensive insurance may be used. A new headlight isnt cheap. And better replace them in pairs or u have two different color lenses. Or u can buy a used one.
