Is the 545i really that bad in the snow cause i have a choice of getting that or 530xi, and it snows quite a bit in jersey, but i really want that power that the 545i offers, what should i do?
And, welcome. Hope you get a BMW.
I have a 545i in Delaware and drove on snow quite a bit last winter (Pochonos etc.).
Its no problem but you NEED TO BUY DEDICATED WINTER TIRES. The reguler tires are worthless in snow.

Dunlop Winter Sport M3 and Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2 get the best ratings on TireRack. Tire Survey Results
I just ordered the Dunlops for my 550 - to be placed on the stock 550 sport wheels (stlye 124).
I've driven RWD BMWs through about 12 Chicago winters - all with winter wheel and tire set-ups - and they handle just fine.
