Hi Everyone
Service completed on my 545 a couple of comments...
Re the E60
1. Normal service - do you guys get stung for a couple litres of oil in the US? Euro cars here are 3 or 4 times as expensive to service. Knew this when I bought it so can't complain.
2. Window creaks fixed !! Holy cow its quiet - they used the teflon tape, good fix it seams. Very happy. Some one brought this up in a reecnt post - go for the tape.
3. Talked them into updating the software - the new look and feel is great, BT Phone still doesn't go - BMW seam to have updated their info on the web - somehow an 03 E39 seams to support my phone but the 04 E60 doesn't...still like the new software though. Didn't think it would work as I still have a twinned motorola gsm phone installed - apparently i have to pay to get removed...plus I am about to change my handset and possibly networks so I'll leave it at the mo, twin SIMs work ok.
The 335d
Guys in UK etc will have seen these - very quick - for sure modern diesels/this engine is going to take over - I had a brand new demo for the day - really nice. Been thinking 3 series for a while - but it's too small - they'll sell a lot of these for sure however.
My friend who's a new car sales guy told me 40% of their new car sales were Diesel - I fully understand why.
End of the day
After the usual wait, i was pleased to see the car detailed perfectly, I love the "placebo" effect of a service - it might be 4 years old but I loved getting back in it and zooming off - still wouldn't swap it.
I missed the active steering the most.
Cheers
