I notice that my 545 has a slight low vibration rumble at idle. This is in Park or Drive at rest. It is very subtle but I can feel it in my seat. It is not the normal engine vibration but something that is "lower". Is this normal for the V8 or is it something I should get looked at?

I have noticed the very same thing - it is not a 'smooth' feel - but difficult to describe. Something I don't thing is right, but difficult to describe accurately to the dealer, since everytime I take the care in for something else - I seem to be without it for a day or two and do not want to be without my own car for one of their loaners any more than I have to be!

I have noticed the same exact thing. To me it feels like I need an old fashioned tune up, as if the timing is just slightly off. I do not believe it is normal for a V-8 - the cylinders are balanced 4 to each side so there should not be vibration like in a V - 10. I will have mine checked out next time I am at hte dealer for something else, but I do not think it is serious enough to warrant a seperate trip.

i am surprised that I may need a tune-up, as my car is a month old and I only have 2100 km on it!

Yes I too have a rumble. Only on start up, almost seems that it's going to stall, then it kicks up the revs a little. Also I have a rattle (again only at start up) that goes away after a minute or so. My ride was at the dealer last week for some fixin' and I got the "couldn't re-create noise" line. When it was dropped off (not by me) they were told it was only happening on a cold start sometimes they just don't listen. I called my SA this morning and held my cell phone up to my grill after starting her up. That convinced them there IS a noise!

One year old at the end of this month........9Kmi, and despite some small problems, it's still a sweet ride

Some rumble with cold start ups but quickly goes away. The other rumble is what my neighbor hears when I take off down the street .

Have the same problems (even the noise), but mine also seems to hesitate or stumble between 1250-2900rpm when driven. The car is going in for this problem next week.

My car is built feb -04, Yours?
