Ok does this sound like the case? I found "something" but I'm not sure if this is the perticular bulletin... its the closest one I can come across.

I dont have it on my car... at least not yet. (*knock on wook*) but as indicated... problem persists from cars built June 2004 to cars built up to Feb 2005!!

You'll be ok... service Bulletin indicates it only affects cars built between June 2004 and Feb 2005.

Thanks EBMCS03! This sounds exactly like the Bulletin my SA was describing. He mentioned that they had checked the numbering on the levers and that they had to be replaced. I sure hope this corrects the problem, the bulletin did not mention a symptom of excessive noise (knocking). We'll see and again many thanks! This board and it's memebers are great.

Just a quick update, SA just called to say that my car will not be ready until Thursday now......The original estimate was 1-2 days, Thursday will make it two weeks. I'm really hoping that this valve train repair will solve the "tapping" noise from the valvetrain. Something just doesn't feel right about this whole issue. First they were to replace all the valve levers, then one side, no all again. They indicate that BMW is directing the tech...does this sound right?

Just frustrated.....car only has 5,000 miles.... :'(
