My Ride: 2008 550I,manufactured 2-27-08,delivered 4-2-08.Platinum bronze,natural brown interior,light poplar trim,cold weather package,heated rear seats,HD radio
recently purchased a G2 timer and after some experimentation to set it up properly and to develop best sarting procedure I got the following results.
best 0-60 tmes 5.00 & 5.17(same road opposite direction)must have slight grade
best 1/8 mile times 8.75 & 8.83,same conditions as above
best 60' times 2.02 & 2.05,same conditions as above.
all runs were made with 10" rollout and automatic start which I think best mirrors
drag strip conditions.
runs were made as follows.DSC off, torque engine with brake to 1200rpm,
release brake & slowly go to full throttle to prevent tires from going up in smoke, also manualy shifting at about 6300 rpm(doesn't matter as it will shift
on its own at about same rpm)
with G2 timer set to 0 rollout all times are approx .25 seconds slower
I am an old drag racer from the 1960's but still get a charge out of fast automobiles.road did not have enough room for 1/4 mile tests but extrapolating the 1/8 mile times I expect about 13.5 seconds and 104 mph.hope to confirm these readings at a local drag strip in maple grove pa.I think I read in this forum where some members went there.maybe they can respond to this post with their
best results.

I'd love to own the ultimate 545i - just couldn't stand the economy!
