Brought my car in for an air bag fault and got a 535xi Touring for a loaner. Nice car, smooth ride, very comfortable but no way does this car come close to the throttle response of my Dinan 545i...

My car is much quicker in traffic and off the line...

I've had the Dinan software for 3 months or so, and its only the stage one with the exhaust, no throttle body or CAI yet but it is already hard to remember what stock felt like. Best guess is half the difference between my car and the xi touring is the Dinan tune...

Hard to tell what the AWD does. I have seen some data where AWD xi's are faster 0-60 than RWD but that has not been my experience. The xi loaners I have gotten, 328, 335, and now 535 don't feel as quick as the RWD cars I have driven.

Don't forget that you not only have the 4wd that influences the acceleration, but also the extra weight of the Touring!

I had to bring the wagon back in the middle of a snow storm, even though I have snow tires on my 545i the AWD wagon felt more secure. I was sliding around less on the way to the dealer in the wagon as the AWD pulled me around corners and pulled away from stops better.
