I bought a BMS thermo, the red one cuz I have an 08. Didnt fit. So they send me a blue one for the 07 since my build is actually 3/07. THAT DOESNT FIT!!!!! I have some stupid ass thermo that isn't either of those two. I mean come on that's one in a million! This is after my ER charge pipe doesnt line up properly, and with that and my JB4 I get random 30FF codes and my BOV doesnt go off like it should. Top it off I have wastegate rattle. Bought the car in November and want to blow it up. UGH! Just venting.

Grab a thermostat from the dealership?

I'd recommend ditching the 535 and picking up a 550 M-sport. I looked at the 535s after my 530xi (loved that motor) got totaled, and I went from thinking they'd be awesome to not wanting to touch them.

Sure, you can make a 535 faster than a 550, but with the 550 exclusive options (shorter shifter, ARC, body kit), why bother? you can always go full retard and throw a blower on the v8.

I don't have an XI but I do have a 08 535i that I am seriously considering leaving the keys and walking away! This car has piss me off as well. I went with a custom exhaust setup, absolutely hate it! Way too loud especially at 2500 RPMs and this is after three exhaust shop visits and replacing pretty much all of the resonators. It's got a fuel leak somewhere that is giving me a headache every time I drive that BMW claims they can't smell every time...I'm thinking about getting a roman candle, standing back a few feet and start launching them at the car hoping it will ignite!

^blaming the car for your choice to hack up the OE exhaust makes no more sense than blaming a puppy for pissing on the floor.

You are right...I am blaming the car for my decision. However, I still think it is time to move on.

I can appreciate that. But, touch wood, mine has been pain-free so far. Got it in Aug 2012 and all I've done so far is spark plugs and an oil change. Probably wouldn't have even known I needed the plugs had I not put the JB4 tune on it.

I'd like a bit more noise from the exhaust but have yet to hear anybody's effort that sounds good.

Audiophool, get some ***less DP's for a more aggressive exhaust note. I had my dr euros installed 3 weeks ago and it now makes my Remus exhaust sound great without drone.
