535ix - downpipes cat delete
Hello guys,
Because in germany the E61 is not available I have imported one.
Problem is that the mechanics do not know this car and I canīt buy tuning parts like downpipes or FMIC for the car. Import to germany is expensive.
I would like to de-catt my oem downpipes.
My mechanic need to know how to demount the downpipes. Is it necessary to drain the front axle or is it only "out and in" without big effort?
Many thankf or your help!
Regards from germany!

That area is very tight - I have the x-drive 535 wagon, just finished replacing the turbos but I did it with the engine out of the car. You might want to try contacting some of the North American performance parts vendors - Turner, ECS, etc. - some of their sales associates have good knowledge. I'm surprised shipping to Germany would be that expensive. Good luck with your car.

Guten Morgen Detlef. Hatte Deutschland kein n54 motor im e60? Die Kats kann man demontieren aenlich zu 3er mit dem selben Motor. Es get geht einfacher mit dem forderem Subframe aus dem Weg.

I just replaced my turbos on2008 535xi. It's a long and difficult job. The front axles tho pop out and then just snap back in. You do have to remove the housing passenger axle goes through to get some room to take your down pipes off. The housing is empty inside.
