2008 535i 11500 miles, barely runs because of misfire on cylinder 4,5 and 6. My mechanic swapped ignition coils with 1,2 and 3. Results came back with same results that 4,5 and 6 misfired. Mechanic says it is the ecu.
I sent the ECU out for repair. They tested the ECU and say it is functioning properly. Coil/injector drivers test OK.
I am at a loss as to what to do. The only option that I see is go to dealer which may cost me more than the car is worth. Last resort
Any advice is appreciated.

Was there a smoke test done on the car to make there was not leak? Was the fuel pressure tested? Have you hooked up INPA to see if a part has failed causing the misfires? What codes are being thrown.

I will dicuss these issues with the mechanic. If he cant identify the problem, I'll have to tow it to the dealer for disgnosis. thank you
