We might be using cross terminology, here. Sorry. Lack of taper on the ball joint shaft, and only on the shoulder I believe is discussed in this Bavauto video on replacing the tension arms:

Yes, they can still suck to get off. Mine weren't too bad, but did take some work. I put my impact on the nut which quickly started rotating the ball joint, so it was no longer stuck to anything with corrosion. The hard part was then loosening the nut from the threads of the ball joint since they were still stuck together. Fortunately my torx bit held up to the large wrench I had on the nut. I had success putting the torx bit in my 1/4" impact and holding the nut in place with the wrench to get the nut off quickly.

20:20 hindsight says I should have cut the nut off, but it's in the past and the only pain is in the memory.
