Get them to idle another 535 beside your car - or ten feet way. Have them listen to one then the other. Have them explain why your ticks and the other one doesn't.

as soon as they fix my car and tell me to pick it up im going to test drive a brand new 535 over to the service department and have them listen with me.

im not going to mod the car. i was just wondering how they can sell something and not back it up!!
anyways stop by after work to give them a copy of my dl(again they lost the first one)they said the engine malfunction is fixed and they are just waiting on a new key. so in 4-5 days ill let you know what up.

update.
the service guy called my wife and said that one of the tech guys hears the same ticking noise i do so there going to fix it.(i wanna smack my service rep for not listening to me the first time i told him) so other then that he said they replace the high pressure fuel pump that fixed the engine malfunction code,he had to order a new key for my c/a. now just waiting on this ticking noise.i hope they hurry up i hate driving this x3!

I am glad they are fixing it for you. Its always frustrating when they can't reproduce a problem or even think it has one.
It now sounds like they are on your side and will work to fix it.

k got the car back and so far so good.the ticking noise the car was making was from the wastegate,the engine malfunction was from the fuel pump,and they had to get a brand new key for the c/a to work. ill let you know to anything starts to go wrong with these item again.
