I am considering a DMS re-map of my new E60 530D to turn it into a 535D. I only test drove the 525D and 530D. Is the difference worth ?800 (with Forum discount)?

Consensus here will be - DO IT!
I don't think *anyone* has complained following the upgrade... Whether it's worth ?800 is up to you...

My Ride: 535d Sport, carbon black, media pack, visibility pack, grey leather, heated seats, sun protection glass, voice control, Eibach ProKit, 19" 166 style wheels, e-maps ECU remap to 325hp and 640NM, top speed limiter removed
It will not turn it into a 535d, as you will never be able to reach the same smoothness across the whole rev range from down low, as already outlined by colejl, you cannot make up for the missing small turbo on low down grunt.
Nevertheless, it will put it in a different performance class and around the higher end nearly match the 535d. Still will feel different how you get there. DMS only have top class rep and also excellent press coverage, but you pay for it. If you are willing to spend the money, you will not be disappointed.
I have used and still use someone else, giving me the same results at different rates.
Good luck.

My Ride: E60 530d Sport - Carbon Black, Black Dakota Leather, Media Pack (satnav, bluetooth, CD changer), heated font seats, through load
The improved mileage means the remap pays for itself in about 40,000 miles
Do you notice the difference? YES!
I've driven a 535d with remap (the DMS demo). Fantastic. Comparing the difference, I'd say a normal 535d will be quite similar in performance to a remapped 530d.
BTW, 14.2 1/4 mile from my 530d

I would say a remapped 231 bhp 530d would be as good as a std 535d albeit different as only one turbo. Go for it
