well, have just been told its down to a faulty pressure converter valve, which isnt anything ive heard of.
The EGR valve is fine.

Ive told them to go ahead with the replacement and im awaiting a call back again shortly with an approximate costs, again i'll post once I know.

Why do you say you haven't heard of pressure converter. The link I gave you earlier explains pressure converter and how to replace it in detail.

I am happy its just pressure converter, parts will cost you around £150 and labour depends upon how long they take to do it. Let me guess the bill, it will be like £400-£500.

£319 all in, I was very pleased (and surprised!) with that.
I was expecting it to be twice that as they began looking into it at 12pm yesterday (or so they told me) and didnt ring me back to confirm the problem until quite late.

either way im looking forward to getting it back and putting my foot down

Wow, thats very cheap I will say. It would have cost you this much by independent guy aswell. I was quote £300 for changing vaccum hoses once by indy.

Which dealership was this? Please share the itemised bill, this will help others if they encounter the same problem.

i'll dig the bill out and post it up.

It Bath BMW (Wellsway) and that fee also included them travelling a total of 18 miles for collecting and delivering my car, as well as washing and vacuuming it

FAIL!
Probably they managed to damage the car at least for the £319 .

Good thing you got the car fixed .

So this is really quite spooky... driving the car this week and once again it's lost power in the low revs.
im searching google for possible ideas and come across an old post of mine from 6 years ago where it happened before - I completely forgot it happened 6 years ago!!

whats the chances of it being the same thing? Likely I would have thought...
can anyone tell me where abouts this is located? Is it much of a job to swap out?
