My 07 535s (non LCi) is only managing 18mpg round town according to the trip computer. Surely this can't be right i had an RS6 before and i was getting 17mpg out of that. Noticed it ticking over a bit rough, fine when driving though. (rev counter flikering and the engine is shaking the car slightly).
Can anyone give me an idea of what mpg's i should be getting ?

Thanks

After reading the thread it seems i am not alone.

17mpg from a diesel is pethetic, i may as well have bought an M5 !

Anyway book it into the local BMW garage after complaining. The Dealers told me i should be seeing at least 22mpg, and just over 30mpg on the Motorway.
In comparison i wonder if anyone has any mpg figures on the Audi A8 4.0 or 4.2 tdi ?

Roy,

Check that the trip computer is set to UK gallons via idrive, just in case it is set to US...

Also, have you checked consumption "at the pumps" as it were?

For sure you should be getting more than 18mpg.

Let us know how it turns out.

Regards,

That sounds a little low - I have averages 31mpg over the last 6 months mix of 50:50 city and motorway...

Yep, make sure it's set to UK gallon, instead of US gallon first.

By the way, proper mpg is only ever when you make brim to brim calculations yourself. Have hardly come across a properly reading obc
