Anybody knows when the 535d will be upgraded with the new lighter engine based on the 730d one.Could it be in september?

Since it just came out in Oct 04, I'd be surprised to see anything new for a few years.

Could be wrong though.

Do you think that they could upgrade the 530d engine without the 535d?? specially that they will pump up the hp in the 530i to 258hp.

I have been reading German forums on this subject. Looks like the odds are not good for the new diesels this fall. For the time being theyare trying to sort out the reallignment problems with the autobox producer. Probably it wud require hardware solution which wud be introduced with MY2006. If the results are satisfactory they cud proceed subsequently with other new diesels. So seems (at best) provided the diesel on 730D proves to be faultless they cud try to start the new 530D this fall with new 535D coming either March or September 2006.

Not any for 535d but 530d should get about 230 in summer/fall 05.

It is still far from being a done deal even for 530D for this fall as I described earlier.
Looks BMW wants to be double sure for the outstanding issue to be sorted out before.

Hi Igor,
Please tell me more about the outstanding issues sepcially with reference to the autobox alignment which you mentioned above.

I am currently doing battle with both ZF and BMW to get transmision issues sorted out and the more information I have the better.

I was under the impression that the 535d already had the new 3.0 engine that's in the 7 (and also the X5) ??
