DSC off, Steptronic in manual M2, foot to the floor. Wheels are spinning as we're moving forward for quite a bit but held the line straight and it recorded a 0 to 60 of 5.60 seconds!!!? ? ? Thats with winter tyres as well!
Is starting in M2 best? I would of thought M1?

It would be nice for some comparisons between D, DS & M?

99% sure M2 is best. I've compared DSC on versus DSC off - and DSC off is definitely faster. However with DSC off obviously you're getting wheelspin, and M1 is just all wheelspin and no go. Even with DSC on, M1 revs high, changes, M2 only gets to rev for say 600rpms, and then changes to 3rd. Whereas M2 stays in gear all the way to 60 - no gear changes to slow you down

I've found M1 very tricky from a standing start - I just get DSC kicking as the tyres can't take the torque. M2 seems to get me away much more smoothly and rapidly. From slow rolling start M1 is much better.

Ordered the Gtech Pro RR and managed a 0 to 60 time of 5.511s and a 1/4 mile of 13.956s @ 102.60mph. Must do better!!!!

Remember this is with winter tyres...

I broke my G-tech pro out of the closet for some 0-60 test runs today. It's an older meter than SG535d has, but the results I got on my last car were pretty accurate.

I managed the following times in this order, starting from M2.

1) 6.11 with DSC de-activated

2) 6.01 with DSC de-activated

3) 5.79 with DSC active

I don't really attribute the better results to having DSC active, just that I was getting better with the launch. I do believe I could do better though.

Taking into consideration the older meter(probably less accurate) and winter tires, the tuning box still shows better results.

Not to mention the better MPG.

I think I can improve my launch as well - so I'm hoping for better figures. Your comparison has hopefully proved just that! I'll keep you posted...

Is it a week 9 car? I'd be really interested to hear about it - mine arrives in a few weeks... I can't take the waiting!

Tried unsuccessfully in the wet to duplicate my times. Finally managed to get one run in the dry. Result: 5.77 sec. Still think I can do better on the launch.
