Hi i have a 08 535xi and i brought it to the dealer because i would get a engine malfunction reduced power message every once in a while and they told me the wastegate actuators are broken and its $3200 to replace since my warrenty is up.... now i bought the actuatros from the dealership coast me $120 but i have no idea how to get in there and replace them, i want to know has anyone ever done this before i know the turbos are attached to the exhaust manafaulds but i have no clue whats the easyest way to reach them from the bottom or from the top... anyone any suggestions....

Wow $3080 for labor? Either it's extremely hard to replace the part or they are a total rip off.

The wastegate actuators are part of the turbo assembly. To replace them, you need to replace both complete turbo assemblies. To do this, you either need to lift the engine or drop the subframe. BIG job. (Just had mine done under warranty.)

You must not understand much about your own engine. YOu cannot just replace the wastegates bro. Its the entire setup which cannot just be accessed at the exhaust manifold. Owning an n54 was kind of asking for trouble given its track record.

If you are paying that much and can have the car down for a while, you should look into upgrading to RB turbos. Prices on them + install are about the same as you posted.
