535 biturbo vs 550

I'm getting a little bored with my current e60 525i. No problems with the car itself.

I'm debating whether to wait for the 535 biturbo or go for the 550.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I have recently raced the 335ci and my 550 was a tad faster at all speeds. Although, the 335 does have the stunning looks. Get the 550 if you need the extra room and luxury. I can't get into smaller cars anymore, I get claustrophobic very easily. I have to say though that the 335 was a fine looking two door, which almost mimics the new M3's styling. The coupe I raced was an electric blue color and phew it blew my mind away.

Now, about the 535? never even heard of it, but if it does what will be the use?? get the 550i bigger V8 much more adrenaline rush than the 535 would give, given the weight of the 5.

535. More and easily tunable. Will yield more HP and torque than current 550.

I think he meant 535 not 335....

With a simple remap that 335 will beat you the next time you face him.

Agree wtih jilo. It will feel alot faster than your 525 in stock form.

Then, when you get "bored" of that, you can chip it to get some serious hp gains.

Plus, I would assume the fuel economy might be better, if you care about such mundane things.

Indeed, also the spread of torque on the new biturbo engine should be very impressive (Flat from 1,300 to 5,500 rpm) Both are great, however... (Wasn't there a rumour of a biturbo V8 appearing? Perhaps 4litre to 'replace' the 5litre?)

Mannn. As soon as my new MY07 comes to shore, we now talking about bi-turbos. Why can't just have some time to enjoy the car before it becomes a dinosaur in less than half a year into it. Never new innovation can be countereffective towards consumers until I met BMW. Well, it is what it is right?

I'll be holding on to my precious until the rumored biturbo V8 arrives. Unless I find myself in a M5 before then.
