Just curious how much better the 535xi is over my car (2007). I haven't had the time to drive one. Anyways, I was surprised when I found out the 535xi weighs 275 pounds more and has a slightly worse front/rear weight distribution (both automatic). If you do the power to weight ratio, the two cars are very close. Gas mileage on the other hand is significantly different.

the difference is like day and night. it will be easier to compare a 550 to a 535 than a 530 . the engine makes the car feel so different you wouldnt even think the cars are in the same series.

its funny you asked that question today. I bought a used 07 530xi 3 months ago and took it into a local BMW dealer to get the sun roof seal replaced. And wouldnt you know it, they gave me a demo 535i to drive for the day. I had driven a 07 335i before so I knew this was going to be faster than my stock 530xi,but come on. That 535i is almost better than sex.

only "problem" with the 535 is the possible hpfp problems....

Wow... strong words. Just curious, would you consider trading in? Personally, I wouldn't because 1: I don't want to take a hit financially, and 2: that HPFP is a concern. I was thinking once the warranty expires, I can get the supercharger kit but then I'm not sure how the automatic transmission would hold up in the long run.

Every time I pull up next to a 535, it makes me wonder. Maybe the next time I bring my car to the dealer, I'll test drive one.

A 535i has awesome power. It never stops pulling. Great car if you can get past the hpfp issues.

I have a 535xi 2008 and I won't trade car for anything. I took the car to get it checked and they gave me a 2010 535i as a loaner and that car was so slow. I hated it. No speed, no pull, nothing. I don't know about u but I like speed. It's true, u should test drive it. See how it pulls and the TT just kick in.
