530i vs 550i?

Hello fellow E60 fans. I'm at a dilemma. I know I'll be getting an E60. Now, my question is, should I get the 530i later this year after the engine upgrade, or should I just wait up for the 550i? I know the 550i is very nice, but the 530i with engine upgrade is not a bad choice either. What a predicament

no, but neither has the 550i yet.... but all signs point to a fall release of both...

[/quote]Get the 550. There are lots of people who have a 530 and wish they had a 545. I don't know of any that have a 545 and wish they had gotten a 530. Granted, if you have to sacrifice too much in terms of $'s you may not want the 550. But if you can afford it, get it. The 550 should be comparable to the E39 M5. Unbelievable.
I have not heard anything about a 540. I wouldn't wait for it. The 550 is pretty much confirmed for September delivery.

...i dont think it has anything to do with $$$, its really what you want/need... i have no need for the power in a 550i or an M5, but can afford both.... i will be deciding between the new 3.0 or the 3.6... for me, ~258 to 306bhp is more than enuff fun, jmho
...as for when, there is no confirm on Sept for the 550, its looking more like Oct delivery, everyone is just assuming here, and perhaps no one is asking about the 540i yet...
besides, comfort access is slated for Sept orders /Oct delivery, so that makes the most sense for the 550/540 releases...impatiently waiting.....

The numbers don't lie. In terms of acelleration anyways.
Can't get a whole lot closer without being better.
