530i lci high fuel consumption
#1
I have lci 530i manual and i think it consumes approximately 2l/100km/h too much.
In general i get 11-12l/100km (19,6-21,4mpg) (manually calculated) on average, but others report around 8-9l/100km/h.
Test 1.
100km on straight motorway (average speed 106km/h, speed never exceeding 110km/h) and computer says 7.6l/100km (31mpg). Only one stop at the end of the trip. No hills, not a windy day.
Test 2.
Cold start 20km, average speed 48km/h, computer indicates 10.0l/100km (23,5mpg). Only couple of stops, mostly driven 80km/h.
Car has 120 000km and serviced recently. 17" original sized tires. My driving style is not aggressive (1500rpm-2000rpm mostly).
Any ideas why fuel consumption is so high? Has this something to do with direct injectors? Hope not Gasoline is 98 octane (with max. 5% of ethanol). Engine temperature is 95 degrees. These measurements are A/C off!
