I have a 2006 (May 2005 build) USA (Illinois) 530iA, approximately 30K Miles.
When temperature is between 40 and 55 degrees F when I start the car first AM or late PM after work, when I place the transmission in gear (automatic) the engine briefly revs and car jumps.
Dealer has not been able to re-enact and service codes do not show any probs??
I remember previous discussions about some issue with transmission but not sure this is same.
Ideas? Suggestions?

Honestly, dudes, I have a stick shift, so maybe this is not the same thing, but I'm assuming that you've tried letting the car settle down to the normal idling engine speed (i.e. revs) before shifting, right? My engine speed is higher (around 1000 rpms) when the car just starts and then it drops (to about 600 - give or take a few). If I drive off before I let the idle settle down, my car feels a little "jumpy", but it goes away after the first 2 minutes anyway. Hopefully, its something simple, like what I said and not something complicated...

It's a long shot, but have you tried resetting your transmission? Perform a search here and you should find threads with instructions. Seems to have helped a lot of guys here.

This is completely different. Its not a high idle at cold starts. The car's idle will actually hunt and go all the way up to 1400 rpm, then drop down to 1000. This happens a few times and then it settles. What I need to try is see if it happens before I put it in gear This should rule the transmission out of the equation.

Yes, if I rev it right after startup it settles down quickly.
The unique thing is that it's just between 40 - 45 degrees F and somewhere between 55 to 60 dregrees F.
So it goes away in the winter and summer, so when the seasons change it catches you off guard, and for a while until the temp stay above or below those temps.
