530i

Hi guys,
Reading thru the forums, this is probably a redundant subject, however:
I just purchased my first BMW and the way this thing drives, it wont be my last.
It's a 2005 530i. My i-drive lists Communication, Entertainment, Car Data and Climate.
It has the single cd. Is it possible for me to have navigation by purchasing the navteq cd/dvd?
I called the parts department and gave the guy the last 7 digits of my vin number and he said it would cost me $199.
I was excited and went to the parts counter and another parts guy said it was impossible--that i had to have a DVD drive and that
my i-drive should list Navigation in place of Car Data.
Can someone please clear this up? Thanks.

You need to have a larger screen and dvd as well as some other components. I saw an upgrade kit on ebay for $4300. Too much for what it is in my opinion.

Nav is lame anyways. My father once said: "why the hell do people need navigation? I know where the fuck I'm going before I leave the house!"
