So I have a 2007 530i in the USA and was wondering if in the near future, it was possible to put the two small turbos from the 535i to the 530i? I do not really know, but are the engines not the same?? Thanks for the responses.

Probably will cost you less if you sell your 530i and buy a new 535i.

No engine is not the same... the 535 engine is basically the old 225hp 530 engine not the new 255hp engine... I forget the Engine codes... N52 or whatever... but basically if I remember correctly it was the old engine with turbos... the new one is made with too much alumium and too fragile for BMW mass production reilibility...
but doesnt matter... you can add turbos to any car... you can prob make it faster than the 535... People added turbos to the already supercharged MINI (1st gen MINI)... and gave it gobs of power...

The 06-07 530i's have the 255 hp N52, which has a magnesium composite block that's not very suitable for the high heat/pressure of turbocharging.
It would be cheaper and easier for you to trade your 530i in for a 535i, trust me. I've been down this road with other cars and it's not worth the hassle.

The 535i has the N54 engine, which is an evolution of the 225 hp M54 sold in the 04-05 530i's. Both have aluminum blocks with cast cylinder liners.

Horsepower freaks has a turbo kit for the 530i in development. Has anyone seen there M3 kit? Its insane. I just wish AEM would release a unit for the 530i...I would fab up my own kit in no time.
