Hi all
My 2005 530d has exhibited some strange behaviour tonight.
The throttle pedal became almost entirely unresponsive, and the car only very slowly gathered speed. This happened until I recycled the power and then all seemed well again. That was, until a couple of hours later when the same thing happened. There were no faults reported or logged.
Does anyone recognise this? Given that restarting the car seemed to fix the problem, I suspect the problem is electrical. Does it sound like a faulty MAF sensor?
Thanks

It's at Wood BMW in Hook for a checkover.
By a strange twist of fate the 10 mile journey from my house was due south, and as any schoolchild's map shows, that means downhill. Let's hope they fix it, or I'll end up coasting into the Channel.

This might be the filter cleaning process (as I've been advised). Occasionally the car is much less responsive and sounds as though the exhaust is blowing. Once cleaned, all back to normal!

It's just come back from having its MAP sensor replaced. Here's hoping it was just a sensor fault and not another fault causing unfeasbible readings.

Hi,
Had this same problem with my 04 530d twice and both times the turbo was replaced by the dealer under warranty.
