My Ride: alpine white 530d.exclusive leather,maple wood trim,comfort seats,active steering,xenons,18'alloys 124,steptronic,logic 7,ac-extended features,sunblind,side airbags
hey guys.i ordered my 530d alpine white in august 
and i am expecting it to be shipped in november 
well i stay in india,so shipping takes 4 months you know.i also paid 103% tax for the e60.with the same money i could have bought an m5 in the us 
.guys do you think i made the right choice by ordering a diesel.i dont care about fuel economy.i only need performance.and bmw diesels are best in the world.but is the 530i quicker.and also plz tell me if active steering and dynamic drive are worth the price.whats are your comments about the comfort seats and active seats.ooooooooh cant wait to show off my bmw.its gonna be the first in my city

I would say that except the torque difference 530i and 530d are the same on the road. Same max speed, almost same accel. The diesel actually pulls a little better from like 80km and up if you want to overpass or something. I mean the diesel is more "flexible" around 4-5 gear. Diesel is more dynamic. 530i gasoline on the other hand is a classic, probably the best gasoline engine ever made so far by automobile magazines. nice sound, higher revs, longer gears, quiet, no vibrations at all....... But if you ask me 530i vs 530d I would say it is even. There is no winner between those too, it is totaly up on personal taste.
If the consumption is not an issue. (however 530i has extremely low consumption too....)
Comfort seats, yes they are the best. I wish I would have them. Active steering and dynamic drive.... uhmmm I still do not know about this one. I would say good, but worth the money.....???? It is probably a matter of personal feeling and preference.....it is like choosing a color of the car..... I still believe those too do not effect the car's performance much, maybe the comfort.

I agree with you let mej ust add sg. YES on long journeys comfort -active seat worth each cents, but now I use this "massage" function even while using the car in the city.
Dynamic drive is awesome! too!! That is why we skipped the ///M pack and do not regret it, although I like it on yours cars guys.
Active steering without that I think I wud have scratched it several times maybe I will still, but this steering is amazing, all my passangers are afraid,even once my Dad (he has a basic 530d e60 with ventilated seats and NOTHING more): look you turn in the other lane and I just laugh at them
Torque is awesome, MY car is reduced by 10bhp by the BMW AG to pay less tax. Even like that it flies!!! Really never had a diesel but now I love it and also care for the environment. So much for the sound, when we took the first 530d on a test drive I laughed and smiled like a child, it was awesome too.
Consumption dunno in the break-in it was hell now it is ok, but when you floor it it eats like all others. Now I use it with "manual" shift of the steptronic and with that and also shifting up to 6th it is better.
So next car, (maybe 535d or if win the lottery
M5) but now ours is 3 months old w more than 6000kms, and we luv it
