I got 2004 530 w sport pack, is there a way to get more hp without spending a fortune

 

No it adds up quick, for a DMS remap to start with (700.00-1000.00US)...then you can add more items such as exhaust (1000.00 to 1500.00US) and Cold Air intake (400.00US)...look to get about 40hp from all this around... Its a difference you can feel...

 

THANKS for your response, so adding these up around $3.000.00 or so, i can get extra 40 hp ? thats impressive i know that DINAN in Morgan Hill does this work do you know how long it usualy takes to do it? and does it void the warranty

I really like to see before and after dyno figures (and from SAME dyno with same climate, air pressure, temparature = identical test conditions) that pushes with those childish tuning peaces 40 hp more to M54B30 engine?

I have a 07 530i with intake, exhaust and an EVOTECH remap/flash which I assume is not far different from DINAN and I am going to the dyno on wednesday so I can tell you just how much gain with an N52-I am sure the 04 would not see more than this so should be comparable-anyway I have no baseline but you can take the numbers for what they are worth-if there is a 20whp I would be surprised. My baseline on the auto I am thinking is around 205whp stock for the N52 258hp engine. So I will go from there. With the 04 I believe stock was 225? Geez and I think the 258hp is sluggish-guess it is all relative. I should not have driven my friends C6 because since then my things feels like a mule

 

VF engineering is a company that makes superchargers. They have one in development for the E60, but apparently DINAN530i seems to have one, as indicated by his signature.

Regardless, it's going to run $10k+ installed.

 

If one is going to spend that kind of money to upgrade a 530i, then why not just buy the 535 or 550 in the first place?

 

Well he has an 04-which you could probably pick up for 25-30k easily. Add 10k for all those mods and you are at 35-40. That will not get you into a 3 series brand new.

Now if you have a brand new 530 and then mod it with 10k-obviously stupid. I spent 2k in mods and I am totally done. Was definetly worth the money but would not be going into further mods when you could by a stock car for the same cash.

But I kind of understand this for an 04/05 cause they are going pretty cheap-check them out on ebay
