hi everyone, this is a great site!

since im finally gonna get my first car soon, ive been thinking of buying the E60 530i.

ive learned to drive since i was 11 years old (now im 18 ) and ill be driving my moms first car the E28 518 before i get my own car. i want a big car has power but is safe too. so do you think that the 530 is good for me?

i did some searching and found some 2nd hand E60 530's

2004 model with 62,000Km, alarm 5cd's, leather electric seats, navigation, bluetooth, telephone, refrigerator, electric steering wheel, xenon, new 17" Schnitzer rims, book service, for 40,000Euros.

2005 M-Packet, 48,000Km, 258 HP, full extra, book service, parked in a garage, price 57,000Euros. also says model 7/'05 . i know that '05 is for 2005 but i dont know what 7 is.

these are the ads i found that have a price listed, and i translated them from Greek (i live in Greece ) so if something sounds wierd its probobly because i didnt translate it well.

so what you think, would it be a good buy? or should i be patient and continue searching? or do you propose i should look into another model?

Hi epsilon2011 and welcome to this great Forum,

I raced on ice tracks when I was 11 yo, with my step dad's brand new Audi 100 coupe...

If you go for a used E60, get a one that is built after 11/04, this means a EU MY '05.
They did big changes to the cars safty then.

A 525i is also nice, not to mention the 530d.

PS. Check the cars Vin code. Look up this!

i wasnt as lucky as you to be racing, but i learned in a citroen saxo which is difficult to learn in because it had a screwed up transmission and i was doing some crazy "stunts".

anyways 525 is nice too i agree, but i prefer the 530's extra horsepower, but if i find the 525 at a good price i wouldnt say no. and in Greece personal cars are not allowed to have a diesel engine so i cant get the 530d.

thank you for the oem website and especially for the info about the '05 safety changes. well, when i find any other ads ill ask you guys if its worth it. until then take care and have fun with your e60's, and hopefully soon, i too will have fun with my future one

What car you drive depends on how much you made. If you can afford a 530i as a frist car and I don't see why not? My first car was a honda civid because that was the most I can afford.

look, my mom doesnt allow me to get a 3 series (its not safe enough for her) and she doesnt like the E39 because its old, she told me to find a 5 series thats newer, so obviously she will buy it for me if not ill need to work my @%% off during the summer.
