My transmission fault code is:
4F8F Ratio Monitoring, gear shift 3..2
My CIP is E060-07-03-525.
Target is E060-12-11-500.
Spoke with the mechanic, he said he'll be happy to replace the solenoids for me, just no guarantee that it'll actually fix the root issue.
I haven't found much in regards to this code:

Looking back through some screenshots I took, I know I at least had the following codes:
Solenoids fixed all of these.. so I dunno. I'd get a solid quote from your guy to do solenoids and see where he comes back at before making a decision
Did you see over on bimmerfest where it fixed the guys issues successfully as well?
4F85, ratio control clutch-e
4F86, ratio-monitoring symtom, circuit montioring
4F80, ratio-monitoring symptom gear monitoring

Yes, very glad to hear it !
I'm cautiously optimistic that this will work for my case; more info tomorrow - Tim was too busy for a 2nd chat today.
I've msged HealthServices to see if he can help me out.

I know damn it ! I just moved from Maryland to the West Coast too. Hang on, getting estimates...
Got estimates - looks like there's only a small difference between two indies. Sourcing parts from thectsc for solenoids, sealing sleeve, mechatronic gasket, and oil pan kit (might as well).
Latest update - having trouble getting a response from thectsc. Trying again...

Red many posts on this issue..... Where dealers and indys say " new tranny ", I too had issue with my trany coming to a stop and my trany would serge forward.. an update fixed the problem. been bout three years now and problem gone..Also ive read that a bad crank shaft position sensor will trigger a trans malfuntion error ,, and lock ur tranny in gear...after replacing it the problems were fixed,,( an dealer was saying new tranny ) I ve also read people have reset thier tranny by holdin the accelerator down for25 seconds with the key on and has fixed some shifing problems... selinoid repacement too. these items ive mentioned have actually solved thier trany problems,,,,, I would really think twice before getting new tranny ,,,,,
