525i engine with 3.0i displacement?
I have a 525i and was wondering if mine have the 3.0 engine or the 2.5 one. my vin is c003846 and my car is euro spec.
in this page ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_5_Series ) it looks like my car could have the 3.0 engine and I have a friend that changing the manifold got a lot of power as his car, although a 525i, had 3.0i displacement.
I want to know if my car is a 2007- 525i/xi - 2.5 L (2996 cc) I6, 160 kW (218 PS; 215 hp).

Check out www.realoem.com with your VIN. It shows a E60 LCI 525i Europe version built in Dec 2007 with a N52N engine. Are you sure you have a 2007? If so the number in front of the partial VIN you gave should be a 7. But with that late build date it should be an 8 to indicate a 2008. My 535i was build 03/2007 and is a 2008 LCI model.
Sorry I don't know the answer to your question.

my car is facelift and was sold as a 2008, I wrote (2007- 525i/xi - 2.5 L (2996 cc) I6, 160 kW (218 PS; 215 hp))as it says in the wikipedia article that cars from 2007 have the new engine but I want to be certain that mine has it and dont know how.

215hp is the correct Horsepower rating for imperial/mechanical HP

REMUS is quoting metric horsepower, usually denoted with PS. Metric PS vs. imperial/mechanical HP (used in US) are slightly different units.
