Gentlemen,
My 2004 525i is giving me a couple of problems and I was hoping some of you veteran owners might be able to help me diagnose/fix.
first, the CD player has crapped out on me. Radio works fine. It could have something to do with the 111k miles i have on it but I was hoping that maybe there was something I could check, maybe wires or fuses?
second, the idle will occasionally bounce at idle and when I go to drive it, it will stall. My theory is that the MAP sensor has gone bad. If that is the case? Please tell me a MAP sensor for a BMW isnt $200!
third, I am looking to take a long trip and I am going to do some maintenance. What sort of things should I look to change. Diff fluid? spark plugs, oil, etc?
thanks guys! feel free to just fwd thread links to me!

First step in diagnosing the car problem is to see if any diagnostic codes are set. If you don't have a OBD-II code reader, take the car to car parts store. Some of the car parts stores (like Autozone and Pepboys) read the codes for free.
Once you have diagnostic codes, you can continue the diagnosis.
I think you meant to say MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor. This sensor measures the amount of air entering the engine. Faulty MAF can cause problems. MAF is listed on-line for around $250. Dealer probably will sell you for over $350. Before you go buy MAF, you should first find the root cause of the problem.
