...is it reasonable to have the first oil change at 15000 miles (?115 just for the oil) and then have the onboard computer recommend the "Inspection 1" service just 7000 miles later?
The reason for the question is the service manager at my local dealer told me the oil will be changed again at the Inspection 1 - which at ?115 again just for the oil, after just 7000 miles, made me choke slightly
Love to hear what others have experienced on this - is the oil change something I just have to accept??
Thanks

Maybe there is place for some negotiation? I wanted to change oil first time after one year of usage and they reseted oil change counter then. In here it seems that they go according iDrive recommendations.

You're supposed to use BMW Longlife-04 specific oil (ex. Castrol SLX LL04), full synthetic.
Then you may keep the same oil between each oil service/inspection (25000-30000km). You just look sometimes at the oil level and you just add the same quality of oil.
Maybe your dealer can reset the oil change indicator until the inspection ??
Here in Belgium, the complete care leasing includes everything, even the oil refillings. Not the same in U.S. ??

However, I thought the oil changes were totally independent as it has a separate measurement. I would ring round a few dealerships to see what they say!

Luckily for me when I was booked in for my first oil service the brake fluid 'light' came on as they were initially refusing to do it even though it was probably no more than a week away when I booked! They wouldn't do the particle filter even though it said 1,500 miles. So I had to take the car in again just for that...
The oil jumped back to 19,000 miles remaining (First change was at 15,000 miles) and the filter 100,000 miles! (Changed at 16,000 miles) Front brakes now saying they're next at 6,000 miles.
