I need to change the main thermostat, I wonder if anyone who has done this already can quickly give a brief rundown on how its done on this particular model. (any particular tools etc)I did do a quick hunt around on forum and internet but could not get anything for this particular model. If lots of things need to be taken off I may leave it for someone else to do it for me.
I changed the EGR one but the temperature does not want to get much past 74 degrees c. Before EGR it was 66 c.

I changed egr thermostat recently. Before it ran at 66-80 degrees. Prolonged town driving and it would reach 92.
Now, it ALWAYS runs at a minimum of 83-84 degrees without fail, and in town it'll pop up to 95. Used to take 10 miles to reach operating temperature, now it takes about 2.
Am still debating as to whether my main thermostat is broken or not... Not sure if it's actually supposed to run at a solid 95 degrees, or whether that's just for the bigger engined 530's. Btw, click on the link in my signature and add details to your own....

Also, from what I've read and personally been told, changing the main thermostat is really easy, it's just time taking due to lack of access mainly.
People also say their engines are a lot more responsive when properly warmed up to the 90+ degrees it's supposed to run at.
