I'm new here because I just bought a 2006 525. Does anyone know why the 535 having the same cc as the 525 has 50hp more?
Is there in the market a magical chip to make my 3 liter 525 react like a 535?
Thanks.
Luis.

If you want the throttle to react faster you can get the sprint booster, it will make the car go go go. Just search for it on the is forum and decide for yourself.

Actually, it's 85hp! (as well as 115lb/ft more torque).......and the reason is the 535 has twin turbo chargers and few internals that are different.

Aaahhhhhh.......no!

BTW congrats on the new car.

luis, the engines in the 2 cars you're talking about are entirely different.

your 2006 525i is presumably the N52B25 engine. your engine is a 2.5 L (2497 cc), 6-cylinder engine that generates about 218 HP.

the new 2008 535i is the N54B30 engine. it's a 3.0 L (2979 cc), 6-cylinder, TWIN-TURBOCHARGED engine that generates at least 300 HP.

so, the new 535i is almost 500 cc bigger that yours, is twin-turbocharged, and produces a lot more than just 50hp.

sorry luis, but there's no magical chip to make your 2.5 liter 525 react like a twin-turbocharged 3 liter 535. the only way to get a car to react like a 535 is to own the 535.
