If I bought E60 all over again, I'd buy 550 and never buy 530. 530 is good enough for myself weighing 165lbs, but adding another 100lbs will significantly make the car slower.

Define "power." I loved my 2.5 liter. In my Z3.

You should drive the 525 and see what YOU think.

What you think is "fast" or "slow" might be different from what you friend thinks. Its all relative.

It lacks power comapred to the M5s 507hp...

Right now for 215hp I think its "ok" also... barely cutting it. And embarassing compared to like $20K cars that have like 240hp! or what is it ? 260 HP... Ie 2007 camry and Current Honda accord.

Its "ok" in general but If I had to do it again I would of went with a v8.

Well, it's not a V8...

But, frankly, on a U.S. freeway, given the speed limit, I do not think a V8 makes a big difference

I have ordered a 523i (2,5l and 177hp) and I found it ok. Your milage may vary.

OK Gents.... its not a 545 or 550 or even a 530, but I have to be honest, when I'm getting on the parkway or expressway and I dump it into DS mode and put the pedal to the metal, I have no problem reaching 70-80 mph in a short period of time. Its good enough for me I guess and of course its just my opinion.

My fellow e60, you should visit the States and don't stay in the crowded cities. While the speed limit is 70 mph, there are plenty of opportunities for 120+ mph and fairly safety to the public (of course dependent on the competency of the driver).

For people who are not into fast cars but love the e60 styling and BMW brand, the 525i is perfect. If you are comparing numbers for numbers, then the 525i numbers don't stack up with the other brands. BUT, a car is not about just numbers. Just like you can't compare a modded 1000 hp Mustang with a Bugatti Veyron.
