Hi, I'm just up the road from you. I know of at least one other 525dA that averages under 28mpg! Sycamore At Peterborough are trying to sort it out!

I tried a 525dA before going for a manual 520d. The 525dA is nicer in every way, but it was no faster and was going to cost me nearly ?150 a month extra in BIK tax!
Under 28mpg? What sort of driving is that? I am hopefully having my CIP updated on next wednesday, hopefully the new code will improve my economy on my car? I am getting about what i expect (around 8mpg less than my old 130pd 1.9tdi passat)

The tax is a killer but managed to get mine before they removed the EuroIV tax break so am not quite so screwed! The 520d was not out when i got mine (at least not in the tourer).

would have liked the 530d though...

I love and hate my 520. I love the fact that it's quick enough for me, economical to drive, looks great, etc, etc, etc.

However the 'hate' part. If they can get this much out of a 520, I can only imagine what the 535d would be like to drive and feel tempted to just buy one!

I am going to get a remap done to even the rev range out and provide a bit more power but overall I cant really fault the car at all. Even with run flats I find the drive comfortable, love the iDrive and the car is silent when cruising. cant go wrong

Kalibraaa,
I had the same jerking with mine. I noticed it more in 3rd gear around 2k rpm.
I had it back to the dealer 3 times. They did a software upgrade which didn't go to well, they had to change the Logic 7 amp. Last time they recoded a module on the exhaust. This sorted it out and it's running sweet.
Hope this help.

Well, had my 520d for nearly a year now, done 20k miles and it's running better than ever. It had to go in for a slight hesitation on light throttle a few weeks ago and since then (re programed the exhaust gas recirculation valve) it's brilliant. Am getting 40mpg round town and 42+ on a good run sitting at 90mph. I do tend to drive it quite hard so am sure it could do better. It's actually in today for a recall, a sensor behind the steering wheel to do with the DSC. Infact I am at the dealer now (Nick Whale) in Warwick having it done while I wait, sitting here drinking coffee, on one of the computers in the waiting area, now thats what I call customer service.

Very happy to see all the paddy's :-)
I bought the car in J.Donohoe Wexford and Duffy's did the work. I found Duffy's the best.
