Strange, I have a 520d 07 msport and I thought I experienced what you are talking about, I thought it was just bad diesel, guess not! Would be very interested if someone has had it sorted,
I think I was quite lucky to get a technician who was switched on and acknowledged the problem. I had it serviced a couple of weeks before and they found no faults. A couple of tips - first, get them to road test it with you in it, if they say they can find no fault ask if you can drive another similar car. Second - nothing showed up on the diagnostics tests so they had to manually check all the sensors. It's easy for lazy dealerships to gloss over a problem like this, but it is possible to get them to investigate properly.

I'm doing 200+ miles in it tomorrow so should get a definitive view on their resolution, but so far it feels a lot better.

Last post on this - there was a frost last night and it started perfectly this morning, also didn't miss a beat in 400 miles + over the last couple of days. Now running better than ever.

That's great news - hope it stays that way - enjoy!
