My Ride: 520d
After complaining to BMW France about my 2006 520d (no idrive, high battery drain dince 2 weeks ago...), well there you are, my car is finally in for repair.... And as no loaner was available, I had the CHANCE of getting a rental... And what a rental... A C5 Hdi with 90HP !!!! For those of you overseas, I bet you don't know what I'm talking about.... Just one of those nice French cars that really no one can dream of....
Just opening the door was mere nightmare : the whole thing seemed so light.... Just thought it would drop off...
Launched the engine: it just roared like hell
Set in first gear... Went on gas.... WHOOOOOOOOO... Just how come I just forgot how non BMW cars were like...????
Well the good point is I now have nav and radio in a fully functionning Citroen ! And I don't have to make the engine turn every day, anxious that my car won't start.....
Will keep you posted on how much time the BMW guys need to fix my iDrive Issue.... But, oh, man, I am already SOOOOOO impatient to get back in MY car... (and it's "only" a 520.....)

I still remember with fondness my '87 BX19 gti - when you slammed the door shut, it sounded like a van!

Hah! When I saw C5 in the subject line, I thought you were talking about a Corvette C5. A bit of difference.

Seriously, we are indeed spoilt by the engineering in our cars. Mine was in the shop a couple of weeks ago, the courtesy car was a brand-new Mini Cooper, and ... i found it too noisy and too tinny. No disrepect to the Cooper, twas me just being used to my 5er. What can I say...
