My Ride: 2006 550i, 1984 Mercedes Gelandewagen

Oh, hell yeah. It's perfect. I gave up a Prius (that I liked) for a 4.8L V8 (that I love). Some times its not about the cost but the enjoyment.
The bad weather ride, a Mercedes Gelandewagen (G-Wagon), is a tank. It gets 10 mpg on a good day.

Well, this topic is now redundant. Oil's down to $100pb and expected to come down even more so now that the world's 3rd largest economy is being crippled by the 5th largest quake on record. $3.45 for premium octane here we come.
It's incredible how 1 event can change things overnight.

Enjoy driving while you can!!
It will get a little cheaper but will never get "cheap".
The environmentalists and the US govt want YOU to stop driving completely.
They HATE you so get used to it!!

I agree, environmentalists won't be happy until we're all driving boring ass Prius' or Smart cars - and I completely agree with Jeremy Clarkson on those. It will never be cheap to drive a "thirsty" car again, but let's face it, if we own or are looking to own $60k+ cars a few bucks more or less per fill up shouldn't break us.

Well, since in North America diesel is more expensive there really is no motivation to switch. Funny thing is the reason diesel is more expensive in the US is because of the European demand for it!!!

My Ride: 2008 530d M sport
![Default](https://5series.net/forums/images/icons/icon1.gif)
Well. I have a 530 M Sport Petrol and it costs me $140 (UK equivalent £90) to fill my car up.....
That means we pay $9.30 a gallon for petrol
Also the diesel costs £6.35 a gallon.
Thats $9.85 a gallon! how bad is that!
How about that then!!
