They are having issues upgrading the software (05 - 530i - 1100 miles). Radio does not turn off......nav gets stuck etc.....what they refere toa s communications system failure.
Sterling BMW has been nice though I have a 330i Loaner and they call me everyday to update. Apparently they have upgraded but claim it is still causing issues so they are now reloading the complete software......
Love the car and would not trade it for anything else except a 545i or M5 but hassles of having so much software in a car.......never though 10 years ago I will learn how to control-alt-delete my car...now I know.....atleast on the i-drive

Oh Boy! I hoped that the 05's would be less buggy than the early 04's. Makes me wonder if I should wait to order my new 5er.

Actually, after a three updates all my bugs are fixed. I think the boys have done a splendid job and I am well pleased. I think I'm on 13.1 at the moment.

My I-Drive is hanging more and more. And last week I had a problem concering the volume of the radio. If I changed it up or down with the steeringwheelbuttons the radio reacted after 20 seconds.. So I was pushing up, up, up, up.. and nothing happened.. And all of a sudden the volume went up very very loud but I couldn't lower it with the buttons on the steeringwheel (I thought). the moment I was thinking to use the round button on the dashboard the sound started lowering again.. The dashbutton worked normal so I used that to get a normal soundlevel.
Then used the famous ctrl-alt-del with the I-Drive and everything was normal again.
