Walked U, question in one of the videos btween the 3 cars I saw the 335 oulled away a bit from the 2 5s BUT the 545 pulled away from the black 550??? did holywoodtrash got the wrong gear? I dont thing the wheels can cause such a difference

Congrats on your car Walk U and all new 3 series owners that car is marvelous and BMW did it again. That 335 engine is strong and fast. Specially for sucha light car compared to a 5 series. I read before the 550 is heavier by almost 200lbs compared to a 545 so the extra HP is gone there. Also the steptroninc seems to be quicker compared to the 6mt and the SMG as tested by the guru of all tests ( ZNOT ). I have even contemplated on getting a 335 but the space is so cramped and trunk is small. I did try to fit 2 car seats and 3 adutls in a 335i 4 doors and we looked like sardines and could not close one of the rear doors becaseu ot was not wide enough. I tried also to place my Mclaren double stroller in the trunk and does not fit straight. I have even taken my kids bikes in my E60 trunk!!! so my point here is different leagues to different needs. Both cars are amazing machines and BMW really did it with the 335.
I maybe contemplating a new baby so X5 here i come

Ya I think chris ( black 550 ) was in the wrong gear. Best video to compare the 335i and 550i is the video where its just me and chris. I think I only beat him by 3/4th of a car ( 40-100 mph roll). It looked like my car was still pulling away but we cant tell what really would happen, since we stoped.

If anything I believe if we took it to 140 mph, the 335i would have either pulled a solid 1 CL or probably have been dead even. Cant really tell, but in the video it looks like the 335i was still pulling strong.

Regaurding buying a 335i, yes its pretty cramped if you have a family to haul around. I would rather go with a 550 or a m5 myself. ( Maybe a 535? depends how the production car is ) Its a nice car and has tons of potiental to be very fast, but all that said. It seems like the e92's are having trouble with oil pumps going out. So far about 10 people on the forums or less have complained about this. I guess you cant really compare tho for all the 335i's that are being produced that 10 have problems so far.

The oil pump itself has been back ordered and I believe (dont quote me on this) that bmw has halted production on the 335i's until they find out wtf is going on. But all in all thats the only problem so far. Even the temp issues that everyone has been saying before the cars production was a bunch of BS.

ya your right if itis a single turbo but I think itis better with the bioturbo less lag.
Left foot braking and the lag is gone! That was Hans J Stuck's trick on the Audi Quattro Turbos.. Kept the rev high enough and brake with Left foot.. so that when you release the left foot.. the right remains where it was.. zoooom-------->

Don't try that on the street!!
