Don't worry about the IS350. It's fast from a dig up to 60 mph but once it hits 80 or 90 mph, it loses power up top. The key to take on a IS350 is to do it from a roll. The IS350's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears are strong but after that the V8 will pull. Trust me on this. EBMCS03, in his IS350, and I went heads up a few months back.
Ya I believe that the is350 loses steam up top compared to a v8.
That said i wouldnt know, Ive never ran one hahahha

Walked U,
After what I saw on Saturday, you're going to eat all the IS350s alive from a roll. Only way you'll lose is if you mis-shift. From a dig, it'll be close. EBMCS03, in his IS350, got a 5.0 and 13.5 using my G-Meter a few months back.

Yup after 80mph the IS slowly loses steam... after 100 its all 545/550/335 but 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear it pulls. You'll have to really burn some clutch to out run the IS from a dig. Anything below 100 I'm willing to play with the IS.

Walked U, question in one of the videos btween the 3 cars I saw the 335 oulled away a bit from the 2 5s BUT the 545 pulled away from the black 550??? did holywoodtrash got the wrong gear? I dont thing the wheels can cause such a difference
Congrats on your car Walk U and all new 3 series owners that car is marvelous and BMW did it again. That 335 engine is strong and fast. Specially for sucha light car compared to a 5 series. I read before the 550 is heavier by almost 200lbs compared to a 545 so the extra HP is gone there. Also the steptroninc seems to be quicker compared to the 6mt and the SMG as tested by the guru of all tests ( ZNOT ). I have even contemplated on getting a 335 but the space is so cramped and trunk is small. I did try to fit 2 car seats and 3 adutls in a 335i 4 doors and we looked like sardines and could not close one of the rear doors becaseu ot was not wide enough.
I tried also to place my Mclaren double stroller in the trunk and does not fit straight. I have even taken my kids bikes in my E60 trunk!!! so my point here is different leagues to different needs. Both cars are amazing machines and BMW really did it with the 335.
I maybe contemplating a new baby so X5 here i come

Ya I think in that vid the black 550 was in the wrong gear...
from 0 to 60, standing start acceleration the Steptronic gearing is better but from a roll I think the SMG/6spd is better.
And Yup the 335 is amazing! I'm glad to see BMW back up at the top of the performance chart. Didnt want those Japanese winning out on the Germans... thats embarassing...
