My Ride: Current - 330 Sport Topaz Blue, Grey Leather, HK HIFI...lost interest!!
Waiting for - 535d Sport, Silver Grey, Foldy Mirrors, 172 19",Logic7,Pro Radio,Through load,Heated Front Seats,High Gloss shadowline,Black Maple,Headlight wash,Sun Protection Glass.
Reading the forum, their seems to lots of fellow ex 330 drivers going to E60's and the 535 specifically.....interested to know if it was for the same reasons I have made the move

- more room - so the car can be used as a family car
- more power - never can have enough
- more mass - feeling safer with the family in the car
I am awaiting delivery of my 2005 545 - it has arrived at the VPC andI am just waiting for the call from my dealer to know when I can pick it up.

I moved from a 328is (E36) Coupe to a 645Ci since I liked the 6 for
a lovely blend of comfort and speed,
more powerful and stylish,
some innovative and desirable technical capabilities,
a coupe that I'd enjoy for a long time.

My Ride: Jet Black 545i
I went from a Mercedes S430 sport to a 545i! The benz was a dog to drive compared to the bimmer.

Not exactly the same move but perhaps even a bigger jump. I went from a 323i to a 545i. 
Up until discovering this site I was waiting to trade in for the new e90. However, I decided on the e60 545i for the following reasons:
1. more power -I frankly have V8 lust going back to my teenage years and interest in US muscle cars. While BMWs are obviously in a different league, the lure of a modern V8 was too great.
2. attracted to the unique styling of the e60. Frankly, everywhere I looked I saw a 3-series and just wanted to stand out a bit more. The e90 is different but it's undeniably still a 3er.
3. more room - the 3 series is not a cruising car and not build for 4 people. I like the extra room in the e60 and its dual qualities: a speed demon but with the balance of a stylish and sporty cruiser
