Perhaps it is different in Europe, but in no way would a 5 series be considered too old for anyone. If you are a young 5 series owner, I think it just means you can afford a nicer car at an earlier age! Granted, I bought my 545 used, but I am 24! I would never take a 3 over a 5.

Then there's "what makes a nice car to what age group" to consider... and we come full circle.

Hey All,

I'm a newbie in the E60 world and here is my concern: I live in France, and want to order one. I'm 32 and ... for us frenchies, this car is not a youngster one. I'm now hesitating between the E60 and the 3 series touring... hard choice, but for me it's only an image thing. What do you think? Should i go for an E60 (honestly)?

Best & Merci,

N.
Girls like mature (older) people... I am sure French girls are not exceptional.

Bon soir! not a youngster as costs min. 60K in ?. However we have some young guys here even @age of 19-20 and more from USA too. The design is nice and the car is luxurious, the only thing you shall decide on is the size, can you use a full 4-5 person sedan with 500L of luggage compart. or what you need a 2-3 person smaller and lighter car, which you may concider as a more dynamic car???? I voted for E60 instead of the E90. I love now the E92 but did not regret getting the E60 Bon chance!

age doesnt matter.. what matters is what you want. i would recommend the 5 series over the 3 series.

Hahah you gotta be kidding... ya... at 32 you're much too young to own a E60.

P.S. This is comming from someone born in the year 1918 Just take a look at my profile.

Age has nothing to do with it. Your wallet does.

If you're not denting your wallet then buy what YOU want.

Hey All,

Thanks for your answers. I do have 1 kid and plan to have a 2nd one. I currently own an Alfa romeo SW Selespeed, which is great but to small: With only 1 kid, when going in the country my car is so full that i cannot see the rear window, hence the 5 sedan i want to buy. Anyway, still, i'm not convinced even if i do like the car, i'm still wondering about having a 3, but not for the room in it, just for image... See how bad it turns when you take care about your car's image?

Anyway, this choice problem is the kind of problem i wish i'll have all my life!

Happy new year!

N.

If you find the Alfa SW (156, I assume) too small, you aren't going to solve the problem with either a 3 estate or a 5 saloon. Never mind the image. The X3 may be an option, though, if you like the look.
