I just purchased a set of VMR 718 Hyper Silver wheels for my 2008 non sport 535i. Front rims 19 x 8.5 ET 20 and Rear rims 19 x 9.5 ET 22. I intend to put 245/35/19 tires on the front which have an overall diameter of 25.8'. However, I am unsure of the 'right' size I should use in the rear on my non sport 535i.

I know BMW uses 275/30/19's on the 550i but I am afraid my non sport 535i will show too much of a gap since my car is not lowered and due to the overall diameter of only 25.5" for the 275/30's . (i am looking to buyConit ExtremeContact DWS tires)

I am thinking of using 285/30/19's in the rear which have an overall diameter of 25.8" which will be same as the front 245/35/19s.

Not sure if this works or not. I would like to her from anyone out there who has experience or is using this size tire on rear of their E60.

Will this work? Any rubbing issues?

I use the same size tires on my 2004 545i with sport suspension:
fronts 245/35 R19 on 19x8.5 wheels with +15 offset
rears 285/30 R19 on 19x9.5 wheels with +22 offset

I did those tire sizes for exactly the reason you mentioned---- matching outside diameters (and the extra rear tire height & width looks and works great).

My rear fenders are rolled, but I think the rears would still not rub even if the fenders weren't rolled.

The stance is great--- wider than stock, close to the outside of the fenders, but not ridiculous "hella flush"

cheers.

Thank you for sharing!... maybe I will not have an rubbing issues at all with the 285/30's since my car is not lowered...

I am putting BMW style 166 on my 550i. The wheels are coming off a 2007 m5. The tires that are coming on the fronts are 255/35/19. Do you think I will have a problem with these rubbing.

They may rub since 255/35's are 26" in diameter and the section width is slightly wider (10.2' vs 9.8') as compared to the 245/35's.

Thanks for the info. Luckily I bought the wheels used and are coming with worn tires on the front wheels.

I had 245/35/19 and 285/30/19's on mine and all fit just right.
