I saw an e60 out at the mall and he had 245/35/20 and 285/30/20 Hankooks. The wheels were clearly staggered. The problem was that the front tire profile looked taller than the rear. I was looking into getting this size but now am worried. I am thinking a 235/35 or 245/30 would have looked more appropriate for the fronts if one were to go with a 285/30 rear. Good thing the guy didn't go 275/30 out back. It would have looked horrible.

i run that stagger and it fills the wheel wells but i had to put spacers in the back to make it not look mismatched

I know it is close to the same diameter on paper, but what happens when you strretch the rear out. It looks like it loses some height.

Sorry Antti, I didn't get to take pics.

but seriously I had that same set up more or less on my 19's and to be honest I didnt really see the difference..

Sorry Antti, I didn't get to take pics.
for 285/30/20 to be "stretched" the wheel would have to be like 14" wide. The recommended size for 10.5" rear wheels is 295/25/20 so 285's will not give a stretched look. Heck, I am currently running 275/30/20 without having a stretched look. I agree they do look thinner, but the fact is they're not. It's an optical illusion, my rear wheels have a MUCH deeper lip than the front (4.5" vs 2.5") so the tires appear much thinner.

I guess... Could have been an optical illusion, but that sucks since that is how the eye sees it. Then the brain processes it as being undesirable. It looked considerably thinner. I didn't like the way it looked.
