My check engine light came on and I took it to auto Zone to check the codes. The codes came up with Cylinder 1 misfire.
I ordered coils and plugs from FCP Euro and they came several days later. When I went to remove the plugs #1 was completely black, smelled like fuel and wet . Plug #3 also was black, smelled like fuel and wet. All of the others were dark and however they were dry and did not smell like fuel.
I replaced all of the coils and plugs. Then started up the car. The check engine came back on. I took it back to auto zone and the codes came back cylinder #1, 3 misfire and random. So now #3 is misfiring.
I have pulled the coil on cylinder 1 first then on #3. Both times the engine runs like crap. However when I put them back on it runs great.
I have moved plug 1 to 2 and plug 3 to 4. Still the same code. I did the same with the coils and still the same results.
It seems like the plugs and coils are not the issue.
I have a hunch I have bad fuel injector with 1 and 3 due to the plugs being wet and smelling like fuel. I checked the oil cap and it also smelled like gas.
What am looking for is a better way of diagnosing the problem rather then just throwing money at it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Use INPA to test/see the real errors or test the injectors. If the plugs are wet that is a tell tell that your injector is bad with the smell of fuel in the oil gives you your answer.
