Airbag light HELP!
Hello all,
A week ago a red airbag light appeared on my 06 530i while detailing the car with the engine off. The warning message is “Drivers Airbag Malfunction.” Upon reading the code with my Corsoft reader the error was due to “Undervoltage.” I was unable to detect a code with my Bavauto SR-SRS reader. I knew the car had battery problems as it frequently had low battery warnings and upon testing would not charge above above 65%. I replaced the battery today and programmed the battery. I attempted to clear the code however the code still remains. Any ideas?

If the battery charge falls below voltage required to activate the airbags, an airbag failure code will be generated. Recharging the battery will address the cause -- assuming the battery will hold the charge -- but will not clear the error code. When this happened to me (repair shop left car door open all night, with interior light on) I had to get BMW dealer to clear the code.

The airbag code can also or sometimes refer to the seat belt
I know you suggested that the cause you believe was from cleaning?
I would check your codes again with respect to seatbelts
I think they begin with sbs codes
I hope this may help
